Ceylon Now is a Sri Lankan marketplace connecting travellers with locally-led experiences. This policy explains what personal data we collect, why we collect it, and the choices you have.
2. Information we collect
- Booking details: name, email address, phone number, preferred date, number of guests, and the experience you booked.
- Payment information: processed directly by PayHere; we never see or store your card details.
- Communications: messages you send us via WhatsApp, email, or our forms.
- Technical data: basic analytics (page views, device type) to keep the site running well.
3. How we use your information
- Confirm and coordinate your booking with the host.
- Send booking confirmations, reminders, and trip updates.
- Respond to your support and partnership enquiries.
- Improve our experiences, listings, and customer service.
- Meet legal, tax, and accounting obligations in Sri Lanka.
4. Who we share data with
- Hosts: we share your name, party size, and contact details with the host of the experience you book so they can welcome you.
- PayHere: processes payments under their own privacy terms.
- Service providers: hosting, email, and analytics vendors who help us operate the service, under confidentiality agreements.
- We never sell your personal data.
5. How long we keep it
We retain booking records for up to 7 years to meet Sri Lankan accounting and tax requirements. Marketing contact data is kept until you ask us to remove it.
6. Your rights
You can ask us to access, correct, or delete your personal data, or withdraw consent for marketing messages, at any time. Email hello@ceylonnow.com and we'll respond within 30 days.
7. Security
We use industry-standard safeguards including encrypted connections, access controls, and reputable cloud providers. No system is perfectly secure, but we take this seriously.
8. Children
Our service is intended for adults booking on behalf of their party. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 16.
9. Governing law
This policy is governed by the laws of Sri Lanka.
